Age 93, passed away at her home on Friday, April 23, 2004. She was born to the late Theodore and Eleanor (Connelly) in Kaukauna on April 16, 1911. On April 16, 1935, she married Demcy Rioux; he preceded her in death in 1970. Alice was a wonderful woman who loved her family. She always asked about her great grandson Sean Cook’s long eye lashes. She loved to go out to eat and would have been a good food critic, especially when it came to desserts.
Alice is survived by her children: Jane Anderson of Wheaton, IL, Jacqueline Brown of Gold Canyon, AZ, Jim (Ann) Rioux of Naperville, IL; grandchildren: Christine Anderson, Ross Anderson, Jill (Bryan) Thornton, and Greg (Amy) Anderson, Mary Pat (John) Yoder, Stephen (Cindy) Rioux, Leann (John) Cook, and Michele (Jon) Newsome; 14 great-grandchildren; brother: Edwin (Evelyn) Weber of Appleton; sister, Catherine Stevens of Appleton. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Demcy, son, John Rioux; sister, Lois Howley; and brothers, Clarence and Theodore Weber.
The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, Appleton, with Fr. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established in Alice’s name and may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church.
