Age 97, returned to her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, July 25, 2004. Alice was born on May 18, 1907, in Appleton, to the late Gustave and Anna Schafelke. She married Wilfred Becker; he preceded her in death on December 10, 1983. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Richard (Elaine) Becker, Appleton; Donald (Karen) Becker, Sun City, Arizona; John Becker, Appleton; and Gary (Janet) Becker, Seattle, Washington; her daughters, JoAnn Barkholtz, Winchester, and Marilyn (John) Carnot, Athelstane; her 21 grandchildren; her 35 great grandchildren; and her 4 great great grandchildren; she is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, three brothers, her son-in-law, Ralph Barkholtz and her grandson, Randy Barkholtz. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 North Oneida Street, Appleton, with Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Alice’s name.
