Alfred P. “Al” Krull, age 92, formerly of Appleton, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005, at St. Paul Home. He was born November 7, 1912, in the town of Greenville, the son of Charles and Hattie (Ashman) Krull. Al was united in marriage with Grace Holz on October 18, 1938, in the town of Center.
The Krulls operated a farm for over 30 years in the town of Center. He was employed with Center Valley Cooperative for five years and Fox Tractor for 15 years, working as a machinist. The Krulls were members of First English Lutheran Church for many years. Al enjoyed many nights at the ballpark. He was a season ticket holder for the Appleton Foxes. He also enjoyed following the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. After his retirement, Al was an avid gardener, and enjoyed this as a pastime.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Grace; a daughter, Linda (William) Allred, of Rigby, Idaho; five sons, Ron (Joan) Krull, of Appleton, Merlin (Judy) Krull, of Maryville, Tenn., Eugene (Karen) Krull, Daryl (Kathy) Krull, and Allen (Connie) Krull, all of Appleton; and there are 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Sadie and Linda, and three brothers, Edmund, Irvin, and Elmer.
Funeral services for Alfred Krull will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton. The Rev. Paul Svingen will officiate. Interment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wichmann Funeral Home, and again from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the church. A memorial fund in Al’s name is being established.
The Krull family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staffs at St. Paul Home for their loving care given to Al the past 2 1/2 years.
