van Beuningen, Albert
Appleton
Age 79, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a sudden brief illness.
Albert was born September 18, 1926, in Oijen, The Netherlands, the son of the late Gerard and Gertrud (van Loosbroek) van Beuningen. He moved to the United States in 1953 where he met and married Antonette Rovers (also from The Netherlands) on November 5, 1960, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton and made their home in the Town of Menasha.
Albert worked at the Institute of Paper Chemistry for 35 years. He continued his lifelong career as a laboratory specialist in paper materials testing at Integrated Paper Services until his retirement. Albert enjoyed working on the computer, crossword puzzles, reading, writing, and translating Dutch and German into English. Albert loved the outdoors. At home he tended to his garden and stacked his woodpile with care. He lived in town, but his heart was in the country. He went up north to the woods or the farm as often as he could. He enjoyed the peacefulness of nature, deer hunting, fishing, or planting trees.
He is survived by his wife Antonette; three daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Vince Newkirk, Chicago, Trudi and Bruce Hamilton, Appleton, and Ingrid and Jim Snyder, West Allis; his granddaughters: Quincy Newkirk and Gillian Snyder; his step-granddaughters: MacKenzie and Kirsten Snyder; his sisters, Mary Steenbergen (Martin), Waupun and Gerry Lagarde (Pete), The Netherlands; his brothers, Jan van Beuningen (Joke) and Marinus van Beuningen (Mien), The Netherlands; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters Annie van Berkom, Jo van Venrooy, and Nellie Lennertz (all The Netherlands); and a grandson P van Beuningen-Newkirk.
