Agnes Elizabeth Vanden Oever

Agnes Vanden Oever, age 93, of Kimberly passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna with family by her side.  She was born on January 22, 1931 in Appleton to the late Anton and Johanna (De Wildt) Vander Wielen . Aggie married Joe Vanden Oever on October 14, 1952 at Holy Name Church in Kimberly. Together they raised eight children.   Aggie was a life-long, devoted member of Holy Spirit/Holy Name Parish in Kimberly.

Aggie enjoyed many bus trips with family and friends as well as family reunions.  She loved crafts (many knitting and crochet projects), bingo, golf, cards with sisters and cribbage with her good friend Sarah, and her occasional visits to the casino.  She especially loved every moment she was able to spend with her grandchildren, giving her some of the great joys of her life. She worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills in Appleton when she was younger and later at Kimberly Dental and Small Business Services, making many friends along the way.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Aggie is survived by her children, Jim, Joanne (Harland) Grandy, Don (Cheryl), Dave (Jill), Joe (Lori), and Dan (Jim LaMaide), along with 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by sisters Ceil Sweere and Pat Gavaert, and brother Tom Vander Wielen and many nieces and nephews.

Aggie was preceded in death by husband Joe, daughter Cindy and son Bill, her siblings and in-laws “Charlie” (Gert) Vander Wielen, Bertha (Art) Wachtendonk, Bernadine (Jerry) Mignon, along with Margaret Vander Wielen, LouAnn Vander Wielen, Jim Sweere and Jim Gavaert.  Also remembering her in-laws from Joe’s family including John (Marge) Fiers, “Sis” (Chris) DeLeeuw, “Beanie” (John) Van Cuyk, and Dick (Laurie) Vanden Oever.

Services for Agnes will be at Holy Spirit Church – Kimberly, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:00am, with visitation from 9:00am to 11:00am.  The family would like to thank St. Paul Elder Services and Hospice, and the volunteers for their compassionate care during Aggie’s stay.
