Age 74, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the Appleton Medical Center. Nancy was born in Scotland on June 11, 1929, and was the daughter of Gavin and Jane Morrison. On July 17, 1948, she married Herbert ‘Bert” Byatt in Scotland; he preceded her in death in March of 1999. Nancy had been employed as an EKG Technician at the Appleton Medical Center. She was a member of the International Club since 1955 and was an avid reader and bingo player. In her earlier years, she enjoyed needlework and also worked as a nanny for several area families. For many years, she enjoyed the companionship of her yellow lab, Katie.
Nancy is survived by two daughters: Elaine Bethel of Little Chute and Ina (Jeff) Montgomery of Appleton; a son: Brian (Luann) Byatt of Appleton; five grandchildren: Angela Bethel, Brian Bethel, Michael Brahe, Gregory Brahe, and Kyle Brahe; a brother: Maxwell (Elaine) Beattie of Neenah; two sisters: Jean (Nick) Baumann of Appleton and Ina DeCleene of Appleton; two brothers-in-law: Peter Byatt of Miami and Tony (Avril) Byatt of England. Nancy is further survived by several nieces and nephews who were all near and dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert and his parents, an infant daughter Jane, and brothers-in-law Vince DeCleene and Benjamin, John, and Ernie Byatt.
Memorial services for Nancy will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2003 at MEMORIAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 803 E. College Avenue in Appleton with Rev. Nelson Craig and Rev. Mara Liz Rivera officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 3:00 PM until the hour of the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Nancy’s name.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at BMA Appleton Dialysis Center where Nancy had been a patient for nearly five years. She considered all of you to be her friends – thank you all so very much.
