Adelle M. Melzer

Age 89, died on July 11, 2002 at 1650 Century Oaks Court in Menasha.
Adelle was born on May 22, 1913 in Appleton to the late Herman and Virginia Cumber. She married John D. Melzer on September 26, 1929 in North Chicago, IL. John preceded Adelle in death on April 22, 1995.
Mrs. Melzer was a charter member of Saint Bernard Catholic Church. She worked as a housekeeper for Xavier Brothers Home and she also volunteered her time at St. Vincent De Paul Store for many years. Adelle and John owned and operated Ja – Dee’s Rock shop, making and selling jewelry and ceramics. They enjoyed traveling and square dancing with their friends.
Adelle is survived by one daughter, Valerie (Richard) Kranzusch, Waupaca; three sons, John A. (Eunice) Melzer, Baytown, Texas; LeRoy (Patricia) Melzer, Appleton; and Keith C. (Beverly) Melzer, Appleton; 15 grandchildren, Bonnie (Daniel) Dahlke, Inner Grove Heights, MN; Cheryl (Timothy) Borchardt, Appleton; Melanie (Michael) Deeter, Ellijay, GA; Steve (Julie) Melzer, Appleton; Leanne (John) Beyer, Appleton; Gregory (Wendy) Melzer, Appleton; Alan Melzer, Menasha; Brian (Diane) Melzer, Neenah; Paul (Deb) Melzer, Appleton; Mark (Sandy) Melzer, Appleton; Timothy (Sheila) Melzer, Oneida, NY; Jeffrey Melzer, Hortonville; Andrew (Carrie) Melzer, Hortonville; Rebecca (Joe) Pastore, Bridgport, CT; and Sarah Melzer, Appleton; 27 great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, and three brothers.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2002 at St. Bernard Catholic Church (1617 W. Pine Street) at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. David Belongea officiating. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, July 14, 2002 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. and again on Monday directly at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service (10:30 a.m.). Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the caregivers at Century Oaks for their many years of loving care.
