Age 96, passed away at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton on Tuesday, January 24, 2006. She was born in Weyauwega on May 29, 1909, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Braun) Neuschaefer. On August 25, 1928 she married Harold Hearden. He preceded her in death in 1976. Ada was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo there with her friends.
Ada is survived by her daughter, Carol Edelman of Appleton; grandchildren: Charlene (Martin) Van Groll of Appleton, Dennis Edelman of Appleton, Diane Edelman of Appleton; great-grandchildren; Chad Van Groll of Appleton, Angie (Rob) Heibler of Evansville, and Jeremy Van Groll of Appleton; great great-grandchildren: Brandon Van Groll, Jacob Van Groll, and Adelyn Heibler; special friends, Jacob and Joyce Paltzer of Appleton; sister-in-law, Margaret Hearden of Appleton; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold; son, James Hearden; and a son-in-law, Harold Edelman.
The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald St. Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and aides at Franciscan Care Center for their wonderful care. Further, a very special thank you to Fr. Gerald Falk, and to Sr. Betty Reinders and Sr. Mary Rose Mennting for their many visits.
A memorial fund in Ada’s name is being established.
